Hartz’ completion of a 57,000 square foot Cummins Power Systems sales and repair facility at the former Harrison Avenue landfill in Kearny, NJ marked a milestone moment in the return of a reclaimed brownfield to use. Hartz’ remediation and development of the site took more than 20 years, in excess of $15 million in self-financing, as well as the endorsement of numerous County and State agencies including the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA), New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
On the balance of the site, Hartz completed a Class A, specialized 200,000 SF storage facility for Preferred Freezer Services, one of the largest public refrigerated warehousing companies in the world.
